Discover your new not-so-guilty pleasure in Modern Guilt’s debut EP “You’re Welcome”.

If Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie gives you a nod of approval, you better believe that you are doing something right, and Modern Guilt are knocking it out of the park. It’s almost unbelievable that this is their first EP, for their sound already has a level of maturity that makes it both distinctive and confident in its ambition. Hence, it is no surprise that the band has already acquired a country-wide following among music critics and fans alike, all hungrily lapping up their deliciously bluesy Rock’n’Roll.

There is plenty to be grateful for in Modern Guilt’s debut EP, “You’re Welcome”. Whether it is the satisfying, surf-like guitar riff of “One Fifty”, or the anthemic sing-along drive of “Get Along”, each song has something that will storm your earbuds and imbeds itself in your brain. From the cinematic strings of “Double Denim” to the indie-rock cool of “Shadow Boxer”, the EP takes us on a journey through musical genres – driven by an incessant energy and eclectic vision of the band. There is a great deal of classic rock influences – especially in “Hoping for the Hoping” – as well as healthy dose of Motown and Psychedelia. With a vocal delivery sounding like a lovechild of Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop, the lead singer Jaz weaves in and out of powerful drumbeats and driving guitars, dripping with charisma and old-school rock-star attitude.

If you want to lose yourself in music, you can’t do better than “You’re Welcome”, and there will be nothing to feel guilty about.
