“While Bisto Gravy might be about one specific person, the story is something that many people can relate to, whether they have been that person who is struggling, or been hurt by someone else’s struggle."

Dan Fable releases oozing new single ‘Bisto Gravy’.

Dan Fable may have started putting out his own music in 2020, but he has years of experience writing and producing for other artists, and even running his own independent record label since 2017. His work has gained a lot of traction in the past 2 years, and his latest single, Bisto Gravy, is no exception. The song has gained over 85,000 streams on Spotify alone in just a few weeks, and a clip of it went viral on TikTok with over 220,000 views.

Fable’s visceral alt-rock musical style and Manchester accent give his music a unique flair. Bisto Gravy is a song about a real person, an old friend of Fable’s whose nickname was Bisto. The song revolves around this person’s self destructive habits. “it seems you've let yourself go lately/Your heads gone funny you break down daily/And you should seek help but you're god damn lazy,” Fable sings in the first verse.

Fable’s writing explores how Bisto’s choices impact the people close to him, like the girlfriend he doesn’t appreciate. “He will be so sad when she's gone/And he will say god damn she was the one,” he sings. It seems like this person is so wrapped up in his own misery that he can’t see how his actions hurt others until it’s too late. The song’s lyrics are unflinching in their depiction of Fable’s old friend, but also strikingly empathetic, acknowledging the very real pain and struggle that Bisto is experiencing.

Dan has said that he wants his lyrics to connect with as many people as possible, and that hewants listeners to take something personal from his songs and apply it to their own lives.

While Bisto Gravy might be about one specific person, the story is something that many people can relate to, whether they have been that person who is struggling, or been hurt by someone else’s struggle.
