Florida-born Thomas LaVine was raised in the small town of Blacksburg, SC, where he started to write songs from the age of 16. Having played music his whole life, LaVine has arrived at a dreamy, idiosyncratic style that plays with metaphor and association, treating “songwriting like a canvas in which to paint with many colours.” Taking inspiration from artists such as John Denver, Andrew Belle and Noah Gundersen, LaVine’s music delicately weaves emotion with sound, creating an unforgettable whirlpool of abstract images.
